The RNC didn't defeat the Soviets, they just adopted their techniques and perfected the propaganda campaigns.

Same thing Obama did to the caucuses, over ran them out of state voters.

What? Who is saying Christians don't have a right to come and talk at colleges? Simply saying the inverse really doesn't make any sense if it doesn't apply.

I believe you mean the obverse .

You might be living in the Soviet Union if Ayers and his communist comrades had their way.

And if we let the government stifle free spech, then "Ayers and his communist comrades" don't have to do thing. They've already won.

That's the point. If you suggest the government acts like old communist Russia, we are essentially giving up our American principles. We are old enough to not be fooled by McCarthy-esque witch hunts. Communism will never work as a system of government. In the end, it can either be a totalitarian state or an anarchy. The only way it could truly work is if the ones in powers were truly saints and would willingly let go over power (and that those who follow them down the road do the same). It depends on people looking beyond their own self interest.

Our own system of government works. It depends on our own self interest. However, it does require some controls. It requires a recognition that people have rights and, most importantly, people have a right to freedom of thought (which even goes beyond free speech). The fact is that Ayers has to right to speak at Millersville. He was invited and his background does mean that he has knowledge on uban education reform. Simply because you don't like his past, you don't like his beliefs, you don't like his education theories and don't like his politics doesn't mean his voice should be silenced. Doing that makes you more communist than Ayers. The First Amendment exists because of people like Ayers, people who don't agree with the government or even the general public.

Don't tell me that Ayers represents the communist threat when you are openly advocating acting in that communist way.

Ayers Warnings:

1. You have the right to be silenced by your local Republican delegation.
2. Anything you say can and will be politically spun for the good of the party.
3. You might need the advice of counsel but why waste your time here.
4. Based upon these rights, we suppose you aren't willing to make a statement at this time or anytime in our community.

So we give the finger to the First Amendment and it's politics as usual Bush/Cheney style. I thought the American public had enough of dictatorship and wanted to get back to the basics of the Bill of Rights. It does not appear so with our card carrying politicians here who blatantly flaunt "your" rights in "your" face calling it political correctness.

Maybe the time has come for those politicians who violate the First Amendment to be criminally and civilly charged for their disregard of our Constitution. Extortion would be another charge for their strong-arm tactics with the State University System to withhold funding to the University if the event is permitted. These folks are dangerous individuals and follow this old dictatorship philosophy that shakes the core of what this country was founded upon. Since when do we give politicians a free ride to violate the Constitution? We, as Americans, are held to these standards why not our elected? When they violate the Constitution, arrest them just like you and I would be if we did likewise. The scary part is they have an audience who agrees that "your" rights are based upon their interpretation of political correctness and they are the only ones correct!

When we bring the muzzle out, where does it stop? How far do we allow it to go? Are we back to burning books, witch hunts, political intimidation? Those who cheer the loudest for the muzzle are those who are chiseling away at who we are as a "free" nation. They will hide behind the flag, the military might and Mom's apple pie, but in reality are the beasts hell bent on destroying our society. I am not a Bill Ayers fan and will not be going to hear him speak. I do believe Millersville has the right to open their doors to a "free" flow of information to those who want to hear it. To do otherwise is a direct violation of the First Amendment plain and simple!

I personally enjoy the freedom to choose who I want to hear or don't want to hear. The current cast of constitutional violators does not the have authority or the constitutional right to make that determination for me. They apparently think they do but a constitutional storm will brew as a result of their ignorance.

Take heed my friends, the Constitution will prevail once again in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Back to baking my apple pie...
