This is so exciting to me!! We are starting to think about safe food. I just started reading Gene Bauer's book Farm Sanctuary, and I am surprised to see this in the paper as I am reading it. There are so many terrible things done to animals and then we eat them. I don't know how anyone could feel good about that.

You would think the USDA would be handing out fines like candy! Enforcement is key to raise much needed funds. When I was young (30 years ago) the hills of Palmdale and Lancaster were graced with roaming herds of cattle and horses. Where did they go? It looks like the developers are building way too many houses that no one can afford. We need to bring back the herds. The hills look so barren, like the "Silent Mountain". Thank you Gene and Farm Sanctuary for shedding light on this cruelty. Lets hope USDA starts doing its job and enforcing the laws.
