For your kid's sake will that be credit card or 2nd mortgage? Where do you think the money is coming from?
[size="3"]When this liberal wish list is fulfilled what jobs will remain in the wake of Spend-zilla?

I guess its OK to spend money fixing up roads instead through your eyes? Since you most likely don't leave your block but once a year, I know it is hard for you to fathom people actually using mass transit around here. 9 mil could either pave 9 miles of road that only a few people use and has a lifespan of 15-20 years, or could build a train station that many more people will use and has a lifespan of at least three times more then what that road surface would have.

Have you ever seen what a sorry state the e-town train station is in right now? It’s absolutely pathetic. Last time I was there, there were old, ratty tarps over the platform for "shelter". Yet, it is still used quite heavily every day. Try finding a parking spot around that place after 8AM!

It is a sorry site, but if they are redoing it at the same exact location, where will people park? Parking and room to park is already at a minimum.

But to go out and spend a ton more money to buy land on top of the price of building a new station would most likely kill the project. Actually, there is a lot more parking room available at that site then appears when you drive by. The layout could be improved to add quite a few extra parking spaces there. It is hard to explain, but take a look at the google maps satellite view of the property and you will see what I mean. The cars are spaced very far apart due to not having an official parking system in place.

It's hard to look at the parking configuration when I'm contemplating what to get at the Fractured Prune!!

There doesn't seem to be any attempt to be space conscience where the parking is concerned, I've picked up and dropped off my daughter numerous times, and improvements are needed. I've only taken the train from there for jury duty one time, many years ago.

They could probably at least double the parking there if they would pave and mark the entire area (including the grassy area b/t the parking lot and station), and cut down the trees along the embankment the tracks are on. It seems like the people only form 4 lines of cars (which corresponds to the "entrances" to the parking area). I guess anymore and the commuters would end up parking themselves into boxes.
