Geez, they just keep coming! Can the township zoning officers really be ignorant of all of these operations? Seems to me that if they were doing their job and going around actually checking on other zoning issues and doing the necessary inspections that they would have run across them sooner or later (in the 8+ years a lot of these have been illegally operating). I can hear the puppy mill that is about 1 mile away from me everytime it is feeding time! Drive by it and you know what it is -- just listen to the barking! I know that in East Earl, our zoning officer is notorious for not actually inspecting, but just taking someone's word for it -- "you seem like real upfront folks.... I don't need to come out and see what you've done...". Is this the case everywhere?

What exactly does it take to shut down these operations? We need clear guidelines. We need strict laws. It is ridiculous the appeals these operations are entitled to. I agree that of these "businesses" need to be shut down.

I have a terrible feeling in my gut that this kennel will be approved too. God, when does it end?

Seems this kennel has two citations against it where they pleaded guilty. One for animal not being vacinated against rabies and one for records not properly kept.

If their close to you, get pics, send written complaints to your TWP via certified mail. Then send copies of the documentation to Gov. Rendell and demand action! You pay TAXES and deserve to be HEARD!

I now live in York County where kennels are not as present as they are in Lancaster County. But I was born and raised in Lancaster County and hate to see it have such a bad name.

The only way to shut these places down is to STOP buying animals at pet stores! Go to your local shelter and ADOPT!

Most of the animals there are already house broken and are victims of the economy.

I want to see spay & neuter laws in affect by no later than 2011 and these kennels CLOSED DOWN!

I will never ever BUY while shelter dogs/cats DIE!
