I find it curious that Racist Opie chose a black dog over a dog of another color..but hey, blacks can't be racist now can they???

shorter freedom: hair color = skin color

Freedom, you'll be pleased, Im sure ...to find out black dogs and cats have the lowest adoption rates in shelters & are often overlooked.

And lol@ black 'furred' dogs...cuz yea, the skin is basically the same!

The sad thing is that Obama could have done a world of good by adopting a shelter dog. The Obamas could have helped the dogs languishing in or being euthanized in shelters all over the country. And after all, he did say he would adopt from a shelter or rescue. There are many Hypoallergic dogs in shelters and in rescues. Instead this will likely perpetuate the myth that breed specific dogs are superior to mixes. And worst of all, puppy mills and breeders of all types will start mass producing Portugese Water Dogs, many of which will eventually end up in shelters. The shelters are already overcrowded with wonderful dogs for which are not enough homes.
