hi all i am new to talkback...have read the articles and comments online for a while.....this article stuck out to me and i remember reading about this case over the years. While I agree that this man did some things that are wrong and inexcusable, I think he got way too much time! 20-40 years is a pretty harsh sentence! There are people who play a part in a murder that get the same amount of time as this man! I do agree he deserved some jail time for what he did but that amount of time is outrageous and if i was him I would totally appeal that!

You won`t be around here long with that mouth on you.Clean it up or enjoy your short time here. The mods will boot you quick.

Hammer, I was thinking the same thing. This guys wants to be the person thrown off this board the quickest.

spangel, you would have to look at his prior record before knowing if the sentence is just or not. From what I understand the guy has a long history of crimes.

I'm sorry.....this sentence is way too harsh. I understand that he deserves jail time for the crimes he commited but seriously, this is crap!!!!! There is a man in lancaster county that KILLED his 5 month old daughter and in june he is facing a 20-40 year sentence. So the judge is basically saying that buglary & murder are the same thing? I personally think that murder is a much more serious crime! I hope this guy appeals this and he wins to get some time knocked off because this judge is trying to make an example out of him and I think that is totally wrong. I know for a fact that the guidelines for burglary is a 2-3 year sentence, and this judge said that was inappropriate which i do agree, but it should be no where close to 20-40 years. He does have a prior record, which is very long & disturbing, but this is not justice!!!!!

Look at it this way.Any gansta wannabe`s that see what`s going on in Lancaster court rooms may get the hint and think twice before they stick a gun in your face or kick in your door and steal everything you`ve worked for.
It`s a long sentence but it may deter future crooks.

If it deters others, then so be it. But it is a strong sentence.
