QUOTE (dee @ Apr 27 2009, 02:29 PM)
If you read the entire story, you would have read the part about how the police pulled him over for a traffic violation. Most likely because they are not allowed to pull him over because a third-person saw his gun. I've been pulled over before and the first words are "I have a concealed weapon in the car". They ask for my permit, I show it. No problem. Then of course, my pistol doesn't have it's numbers scratched off.

No, actually the story never said he was pulled over for a traffic violation. They said... and I quote.

"Police said officers, responding to a report of a man with a gun in the parking lot, spotted a weapon in Wallace's car when they pulled him over for a traffic stop."

No where in that sentence does it say they pulled him over for a violation. If they did in fact have a legal reason to pull him over... why wasn't he then charged with the traffic violation as well? And to the other ignorant poster that claims lawful firearm carriers are paranoid. I bet people think your paranoid for being prepared for whatever may or may not come. I bet you have health insurance... are you paranoid? I bet you have smoke alarms... Are you expecting your house to burn down? Here's an idea. Go out and get insurance on your house, but only for the day it catches fire. That way you can save a boat load of money. Oh wait... you have insurance because you don't know if or when any damage may happen to your property. If you can find merit in having property insurance, then you can consider my firearm my personal life insurance. I know... you liberals would rather die than carry a firearm for self defense. I mean the police will be there to protect you won't they. Here's a really great idea. Call the police and tell them to carry their firearms only when they know they are going to need it. See how well that goes over. It is obvious you have a bias toward guns. It's okay. That gun on the man's belt won't hurt you. I feel bad for you being afraid of an object. Then again I guess you could be worse. Like that maury show with the guy that had a fear of peaches.

I'm a hoplophobe? I'm not the one carrying a gun because I'm afraid of people who carry guns.

I've never once gone to Lancaster Shopping Center fearing for my life. I seriously pity you.
Yes, I think everyone is a criminal, even though I'm not the one who carries a concealed weapon because I suspect that everyone is on the verge of committing a crime. I happen to think this guy is a criminal because he was caught with a firearm with a shaved off serial number. I'm not sure why you are defending him. He's the exact opposite of the type of person you should defend, if you're trying to make the case for responsible gun ownership.

But then again, I'm apparently an ignorant backwoods babboon, according to your judgment.

FWIW, there are plenty of responsible gun owners who become criminals the second they use their guns.

Have fun with your paranoia.

Apparently....

Carrying a firearm is not a suspicious activity. It is a inanimate object. I'm sorry that you are such a hoplophobe. I understand where your coming from. I get scared and call the police because off all of those freaking scary cars in the parking lots! they kill many more people than guns do. We need more car control!!! On a more serious note. I would like you to tell me when I would need my gun with me. A guy was just robbed in the citizens bank parking lot 2 weeks ago for an ipod and 60 dollars. Crime doesn't happen when you decide the time is right... unless you are the criminal. And if you see someone legally carrying a firearm and you consistently dial 911 to report it, after the police told you it was legal. a charge may be brought against you for harassment.

PS. I hope you enjoy your fake flowers and novel..

hey man you might want to be seein a doctor, I think you might have a brain tumo

There is no firearm registry in PA. I am fine with him being arrested for breaking the law. My only concern is how the matter came about. The police simply observing a firearm is not just cause to question/detain an individual. I'm sure there was more to the story. The reporter made it sound like they pulled him over just because a person saw a firearm on or about his person. That would be illegal. However, if they pulled him over for a vehicle code infraction and then proceeded.. or he was an idiot and gave up his 4th amendment right and let them search his vehicle.. that's fine and dandy with me. Criminals should be arrested and prosecuted period. If this guy was a legal and had his LTCF this could have been bad for the PD. Especially if they forced a search on the guy. I am only being hypothetical. As I said I am sure the facts are more than what we read in the article.

PS. What do you mean "You People"

LETS STICK TO WHAT IT WAS OK

"THE GUN" WAS LAYING ON THE ICEHOLES FRONT SEAT, A PERSON WALKED BY SEEN IT AND CALLED 911 NEXT THING YOU KNOW YO BRO WAS SPENDIN THE WEEKEND IN THE COUNTY
CUT AND DRIED IN THE BAG
