Here is a man who looks comfortable in his skin.
He isn't all that comfortable lately, perhaps a bit nervous and snarky.

Lancaster Express Staff continued on the road into the early morning hours of Wednesday, to see if Charlie Smithgall may have actually received enough votes to be placed on the November ballot for Mayor of Lancaster City. The Express verified with the Lancaster County Board of Elections that Smithgall would need 100 write-in votes to take the vacant Republican spot
Polling places must post returns in a public place immediately after vote tallies are taken. Votes are broken down by party, office and ballot type. Paper ballot votes will only show the number of write-in votes cast for a Republican Party candidate for Mayor but not who that candidate was. Machine votes will show the candidates name.
Out of the 41 precincts in Lancaster City, Express Staffers reviewed returns at 14 including Smithgall's home poll. The polling places reviewed were the following: 1W-Masonic Center, 2W-2P-St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 5W-1P-St. John's Episcopal Church, 5W-2P-Unitarian Church, 5W-3P-Bethany Presbyterian Church, 6W-1P-First United Methodist Church, 6W-2P-Grace Lutheran Church, 6W-9P-Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 7W-6P-Stevens State School of Technology, 7W-8P-7th Day Adventist Church, 8W-8P-Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 9W-2P-YMCA, 9W-3P-Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 9W-4P-Reynolds Middle School. The highest number of write-ins shown at a single poll was 19 the lowest number 1.
More than 100 write-in votes for a Republican for Mayor were cast at these polls. It can not be verified if all of the votes were for Smithgall however, over half the votes were cast at 4 polls which sit in close proximity to Charlie Smithgall's Pharmacy.
Contacted this morning, Charlie Smithgall said he had no comment other than a reminder that the votes may not all be for him and must meet the criteria set forth by the Board of Elections. "We'll wait and see what Mary Stehman has to say". Smithgall said. Mary Stehman is the Chief Clerk, Registrar of the Lancaster County Board of Elections and Registration.
