uhhhh newsflash.... possession of an ounce, 28 grams, of pot is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine and probation.
why is this guy in prison? do we still have a constitution in this right wing county?

Isn't that the truth! No wonder the jails are so overcrowded. Why would there be any hesitation to charge the cop when he damaged someone's car and left the scene.

I don't know what Maldonado majored in, but he went to M.U. many years ago. Was a nice guy, too. Too bad he chose this path in life; he had a chance, he could've been somebody.

This guy obviously doesnt believe what he is taught in his criminal justice classes or else he wouldnt be messing around with drugs,

To placate those with common sense the cops and da's ( the ones who REALLY make the laws as feeble senile congressman only rubberstamp anymore)
They made poss of small amounts of pot a less serious offense after giving the black guy in TX 30 years for one joint....

HOWEVER, and this is where the law is bogus (As usual) and persecutes people
The possession of a paper to roll the weed or a pipe is considered a far worse offense
and treated so
You DON'T even have to have a trace of dope on you to go to jail!
I once unknowingly had a guy in my car who had an empty bag-with NO trace of drugs in it--but since it was deemed a drugs bag east lampeter coppers gave him a charge!
I admit the guy was an !profanity! as he 'waved' to the cops at a convenience store and I gave him hell for it as with cops you DON'T even eyeball them or acknowledge them in any way--positive or negative as that is probable cause for them to stop, beat or shoot you
This person will get a serious felony as having one light to grow weed constitutes MANUFACTURE of a drug
If he had any brains I suppose he would have majored in chemistry and set-up a commercial meth lab and made some real money and not just grew a plant or whatever for himself

Weed is such a horrible drug while abusing/killing animals and selling abused animals to people by the Amish and Mennonites is Kool and a tribute to them being business savvy (high five)
While out-of- control cops in Lancaster shooting cripples or those who slip and such is ok too
-how dare the infirm be allowed to live or stumble in their presence-such audacity towards law enforcement!
If he lives Im sure there will be a myriad of trumped up charges too!
