They are Clay, Colerain, Conoy, East Cocalico, East Hempfield, Fulton, Manheim, Paradise, West Donegal and West Earl townships.
No townships here have contested races for supervisor/commissioner on the Democratic side.
In Clay Township, there are two contested races for two different council terms.
The first features three candidates vying for a six-year supervisor term.
The three are Richard Stehr of 10 W. Girl Scout Road, 54, a dairy consultant; incumbent Justin Harnish, 29, of 455 Camp Road, office manager for a church camp retreat; and Mark Siems, 31, of 63 Gentleness Drive, a dining services manager.
Three others in Clay Township are running for a two-year seat to fill out a remaining term:
A. Keith Martin, 33, of 1111 Forest Hill Road, a farmer and also the GOP-endorsed candidate; Jared Rottmund, 31, of 1030 Girl Scout Road, a farmer; and Earl Stauffer, 57, of 202 Kimberly Lane, Clay Township's roadmaster.
In Colerain Township, incumbent supervisor Scott Shoemaker, 526 Maple Shade Road, faces a challenge by Edgar F. Greenleaf, 541 Mount Eden Road.
Shoemaker, 61, is a road worker and part-time farmer.
Greenleaf, 72, owns Ag Industrial Equipment Inc., Rising Sun, Md.
In Conoy Township, two supervisors and a political newcomer are running for a pair of six-year supervisors' seats.
They are incumbent Clyde Pickel, 74, of 192 Falmouth Road, who's retired; Kevin McKain, 48, of 104 Fawn Drive, a printing industry employee; and incumbent Stephen Mohr, 59, of 144 Race Street, a farmer.
In East Cocalico Township, incumbent Alan R. Fry faces a challenge by Kenneth D. McCrea.
Fry, 61, 40 School Lane, is a lathe operator for CNH Global in New Holland.
McCrea, 55, 20 Terrace Ave., is an environmental consultant who owns McCrea Research Inc. of Stevens.
In Fulton Township, two are running to replace outgoing supervisor Paul Hannum:
Mike Church, 47, 177 Peach Bottom Road, a Fulton Township road crew worker and the township's emergency management director.
Larry R. Myers, 55, 135 Brabson Road, owner and operator of Myers Electric, Peach Bottom, and a township auditor.
In Paradise Township, five are running to replace outgoing supervisors Kevin McClarigan and Carol Nicklaus:
Joseph Williams, 49, 30 London Vale Road, a truck driver.
Pat H. Heyer, 56, 3463 Lincoln Highway East, owner of New Concepts Real Estate Co., Lancaster.
Katherine Wood-Jacobs, 62, 62 Paradise Lane, owner and financial manager of the Troubadour Music Shop in Wayne.
Matthew R. McClarigan, 24, 17 Leacock Road, an accountant for Kevin J. McClarigan CPA. He is the son of Kevin McClarigan.
Allan D. Rohrer, 57, 656 Strasburg Road, a long-time dairy and crop farmer and a former supervisor.
Since Wood-Jacobs is the chairwoman for the Pequea Valley GOP, the committee decided not to endorse anyone in the race, she said.
In West Donegal Township, two candidates are seeking a six-year supervisor's seat, as supervisor Steve Speers is not seeking a new term.
The candidates are Michael Kuhn, 58, of 49 Oak Drive, a facilities supervisor for a pharmaceutical company; and Ralph Horne, 63, of 1498 N. Market St., who's retired.
In West Earl Township, incumbents John B. Ford and Russell L. Ressler Jr. face a challenge by former supervisor Richard Horst.
Ford, 52, 85 Rosewood Drive, is a controller for Murry Cos. of Lancaster.
Ressler, 57, 4091 Oregon Pike, is part-owner of Ressler & Mateer HVAC of Brownstown. He joined the township supervisors board in December after Sylvan Fisher resigned.
Horst, 65, 28 Circle View Drive, works for Willow Valley Retirement Communities in Willow Street. He served as supervisor 1994-2007.
