A masked man held a knife to the throat of a female convenience store clerk Wednesday night, as he helped himself to a handful of cash from the Brickerville store.

The clerk, a 28-year-old Lititz woman, was unhurt, state police said.

Troopers said a man entered the Turkey Hill Minit Market, routes 322 and 501, Elizabeth Township, shortly after 9 p.m.

With a black bandanna over his face and brandishing a knife, the man approached the woman, grabbed her from behind and held the knife to her throat, police said.

He then forced her behind the sales counter and demanded that she open the register.

The robber helped himself to about $70 cash and cigarettes, then escaped on foot into a wooded area behind the northwest corner of the store.

State police described the suspect as a white male, between 23 and 27 years old, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a stocky build, wearing dark clothing, a black baseball cap turned backwards and black gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ephrata barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police by calling 721-7667.

We need to get those knives off the street.
Nativeson
Or start arming store clerks, hope that knife was not stolen, if it was, and the legal owner had reported the loss it would have never been used in a crime.
At least that's what Mayor Gray thinks would happen when his gun law gets passed.
