A young man tried to rob the Wachovia Bank in downtown Lancaster early this afternoon, according to city police.

It was not immediately known whether the suspect, described as a thin white or Hispanic male, got any cash from the 100 N. Queen St. branch, said Sgt. Todd Umstead.

The suspect, estimated to be between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, was wearing a white baseball cap turned backwards, a black-and-white T-shirt, black-and-white sneakers and cream-colored shorts.

He also had spiky hair, a moustache and long, connecting sideburns, according to city police.

The suspect presented a note, which he left at the bank as he fled outside about 1:35 p.m. today, said Umstead. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

Where are the pictures? Doesn't the bank have any cameras?
