Vince Pagano wishes his company had done this 10 years ago.

But now that Highway Equipment & Supply Co. finally has built a new branch here, it was worth the wait.

"This is big time. This is going at it," said a delighted Pagano on Thursday.

Harrisburg-based Highway Equipment is completing a new branch in Brownstown.

Costing more than $4 million, the 200 Burkholder Drive facility will replace a small site in a converted barn on Koser Road.

To mark the occasion, an open house will be held Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new facility, off Newport Road, will open for business Monday, June 8, at 7 a.m.

The 26,000-square-foot location, on 6.5 acres, will have two large service bays, with a third potentially coming in the future, said Pagano, vice president and branch manager.

Sales and administrative offices, a parts counter, a service counter and a training room complete the eight-employee location, which is about five times the size of the Koser Road site, which opened in 1997, he said.

"We should have done this 10 years ago," said Pagano. "Lancaster County, by far, is our biggest source of current and potential customers."

Highway Equipment is a construction equipment dealership that provides sales, leasing, service and parts throughout central Pennsylvania. Its Keystone Processing Equipment subsidiary will remain on Koser Road.
