Sounds like an interesting tour, guided by a knowlegeable man immersed in the era. Lancaster is lucky to have him. I bet his curiousity has uncovered alot of forgotten gems.

George Washington also stayed at the Conestoga Tavern, at the bottom of E King St.
Kicking back a glass of 'cider' has nothing to do with drinking.  It is APPLE JUICE.  Hard Cider, on the other hand is booze.
