Detectives searching the home of a suspected drug seller in New Providence said they kept getting interrupted by people who dropped by the home hoping to buy marijuana.

On Friday, June 5, members of the Lancaster County Drug Task Force said  they executed a search warrant at 51 Clearfield Road, the residence of the alleged drug seller and his two sons.

Police said they discovered 44 grams of marijuana in the bedroom of the father, 51-year-old Joseph W. Brinton.

Detectives also found 240 grams of marijuana in the bedroom of his 20-year-old son, Tyler Joseph Brinton.

During the search, officers uncovered 11 marijuana plants in the kitchen area, along with greenhouse seed starter and growing equipment.

Police said they also found marijuana-growing equipment in both Tyler's bedroom and the bedroom of his younger brother, an unidentified juvenile.

During the search, a spokesman for the Drug Task Force said several individuals showed up at the home, hoping to purchase marijuana.

The potential buyers received the surprise of a lifetime, police said, when detectives answered the door and proceeded to "identify, search and detain" each of them.

Joseph Brinton was charged with criminal conspiracy to manufacture and sell marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police charged his son, Tyler, with criminal conspiracy to sell and manufacturer marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives said the juvenile brother will be petitioned into Lancaster County Juvenile Court for possessing marijuana growing equipment.

Joseph and Tyler Brinton were arraigned before magistrate district judge Stuart J. Mylin and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Police said the investigation is ungoing and more charges will be filed .

... next thing you are going to say is let's not make a single punch in the face assault... it's not that big of an injury...

More fighting techniques usually rapidly follow that single punch. A citizen is supposed to have the right to defend their life, especially in their home. Instead, it's prison for surviving.

If I lived in that neighborhood I sure as hell wouldn't want this living bag of trash living next to me.

----
I would take that man and his sons into my neighborhood in the city any day before the crazed drunken fools who rampage in my neighborhood with rap music up on high all night long and fights in the streets, etc constantly happening all around me---all hours of the night in large part due to alcohol

Yeah
A few small time weed smokers/dealers.
Any day over what I endure and I dont even like or smoke weed ---ever.

i.m not blaming the cops , i am blaming the backwards citizens and the politicians who cater to them while they rob us blind.
simple possesion of pot, 28 grams, one ounce or less has a penealty of a $100 fine and 30 days probation maximum.
given that, do we really want to invest tens of thousands of limited dollars to arrest the guy who supplies that ounce?
people smoke pot. they will continue to smoke pot. they will not stop smoking pot. pot is fun and hurts no one.
that the cops have to spend their time busting nickel dime dealers when ther is real crime out there is incredibly stupid.
people carry guns because they are scared. i am not scared of a pot smoker, man.

Let alone the 30 to 50 grand a year we spend to lock them up

Good to see money that could fully fund health care going to house those non violent offenders at exhorbitant rates. When it comes to pot users, just because it is a law doesn't mean it's correct
and I don't smoke the stuff I see how it affects people and its a lot better than how many act on a few beers
