Beware of the endorsed Republican candidates. One of them has even admitted that she really doesn't know what goes on in our schools -- hers went to private school. Why would she run for school board then? Is her motivation to sabotage our public schools like Chuck has been doing? Couldn't pay me to vote for Heidi Zimmerman!
Would not vote republican for anything in my district! In my opinion our republican lawmakers are unmoral diasters. First we have Denlinger who supports the puppymillers. Then there is Mike Brubaker who is more of the same. Our local republican zoning board routinely discriminates against non-mennonites when it comes to land use, and Shady Marvin ( I'm sure you know who I mean) can write his own laws when it comes to all the sewerage he produces. Hopefully, as more and more people come into the area they won't have rose colored glasses on and will see things as they truly are. By the way, Have you seen Hollister? Looks like something from the 50's. No wonder the school board hired him.

Guess you don't get to vote a lot! I sooooo agree with you. The local Republican committee is controlled by the far-right minority who LOST the referendum vote last fall. We can only hope that others see the light and don't let these Rep party flunkees on the board. There are options this time for school board. There is an independent (Michael C. Upton) and a Democrat (Kelci deVyver Robbins) running! Unimagineable! And two moderate Republicans (Janet Getz and Alexander Sitar) who are not endorsed because they are moderates.



Harv, it is a case of you get what you pay for. If you aren't willing to pay for quality teachers, this is what you get. All our school board cares about is how to save a buck and not about the kids. They need to put the kids FIRST.

THAT DOES NOT TRUE..MY SISTER INLAW TEACHERS FOR A PRIVATE SCHOOL AND GETS A SALARY OF HALF OF WHAT THE LOWEST PAID TEACHER OF ADMIN GETS.. LOOK AT ALL THE CHILDREN IN LC,HN,LMH.. HAVE WOUNDERFUL SPORTS TEAMS.. LOW PAID COACHES .. THE ATHLETIC DEPT AT GSH.. NEEDS TO BE CLEANED UP.. GSH HAS A WOUNDERFUL MUSIC PROGRAM.. MUSIC DIRECTOR.. GIVES UP A LOT OF TIME FOR LITTLE PAY..IT SEEMS TO ME THAT GSH HIRES YOU ON WHAT CHURCH YOU GO TO AND WHO YOU KNOW AND NOT WHAT YOU KNOW...
