Neighbors heard the screams and called police to the Kendes Road home, outside Millersville, at about 4:30 p.m. June 12, police said.
When they arrived, police said, the woman - who was unhurt - told officers her 7-year-old son was still inside the house with her live-in boyfriend, Dante Matos, who had threatened to beat and kill her.
Matos came outside and talked with officers, Manor Township Police Sgt. James Alexander said, giving police a false name, but otherwise cooperating. The child was not injured.
Alexander said he accompanied Matos into the house to get his things, when the man opened a drawer containing a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Matos was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, giving police false identification, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was committed to county prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The following day, shortly before midnight on June 13, Manor Township police were called to a home in the first block of East New Street in Mountville for a disturbance at a party.
When officers arrived, a resident of the home, Joel Miles, 26, was angry and yelling profanities, police said.
Miles was handcuffed and taken into custody, police said, but he continued to yell obscenities and started threatening officers.
While in custody, Miles repeated spit inside the cruiser and broke the handcuffs he was wearing, police said.
Miles was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief and committed to prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.
