"In addition, consultants took home $2.8 million from the Convention Center Authority.

Maurice Walker's Bulls Advisory Group, of Bowie, Md., earned the most: $921,000. Some of that money paid for accounting his firm did before Geisenberger's firm, Walz, Deihm, Geisenberger, Buckley & Tennis, became involved with the project.

Dan Logan, of Medford, N.J., came in a close second with $835,000 in consulting fees.

More than a quarter of that money paid for marketing and accounting work on the Ramada Inn at the Brunswick in 2004, when the Convention Center Authority was considering moving the project to Lancaster Square."

Wow..that's a lot of cash! Where are they now?
I was watching closely in 2004, and have saved every news clipping, and spoke with the Brusnwick owner.....LCCA's consideration to move the CC to the Brunswick lasted about 67 hours.

And the fact remains to this day: if there had been a consensus that the project were viable, appropriate, and able to accomplish its economic goals for the city, there would not have been a controversy.

Also, it is currently costing $58,500 a month to operate the Convention Center Authority.

For what? they do nothing and have no authority. All power and decisions are made by High/Interstate/PSP. EVerytime that Kevin Molloy is asked a question, he passes it off on Josh Nowak or Chris Barret. What does he do? We got more for our money when we were paying Tom Smithgall to sit around and watch while the LCCCA argued with PSP.

The downtown convention center needed someone of Kevin Molloy's experience to get opened. As you noted, it won't need anyone of his caliber to operate, since ALL control of the facility is in the hands of the Penn Square Partners' hand-picked management group: Interstate Hotels and Resorts.

I give Kevin Molloy a year or two before he moves on to greener pastures.

FYI, the LCCCA's operating budget once the convention center opened is reduced to $42,500 a month. This was an integral part of the bond sale agreement with Wachovia, and cannot be renegotiated. I'm disappointed that the reporter missed that little fact, it's been out there since March of 2007.
