A Gap woman was killed and her husband and infant son injured Sunday morning when their buggy was struck from behind by a car in Chester County.

Rebecca Glick was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release issued by Trooper Mark W. Knock.

Her husband, 29-year-old Reuben Glick, sustained serious head injuries and was flown from the scene to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. He was in stable and fair condition Sunday night.

The couple's son, 9-month-old J. Elmer Glick, was treated for minor injuries and released from duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del.

According to police, the horse-drawn buggy was traveling along Route 41 in West Fallowfield Township at 6:52 a.m. Sunday when a black 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Robert P. Stanton Jr. struck the buggy from behind. All three members of the Glick family were thrown from the buggy.

Stanton, 19, of Atglen, was treated for minor injuries and released from LGH.

The horse pulling the Glicks' buggy also was killed in the crash.

An officer at the state police station in Avondale said Sunday the investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.

Excuse me, but i've been reading each comment under this story on Lancaster Online. I like to point out a few things first of all. Cell Phone use wasn't a factor in this tragedy! For anyone who thinks this was a mindless, careless act. You can all go straight to hell because this was a tragedy and this boy, Bobby. He is soooo truelly sorry and the one person who annoyed me the most under this topic is, "bigmac" your a dirt-bag. Pointing out all the faults. You don't even know probally 5% of the truth of this tradagey. God Bless the Glick family!

Nice name! I have to agree with you A1!!

This so called tragedy could of been avoided if Bobby was driving carefully; i.e. every time he goes around a curve or crests a hill, etc. expect that something could be there and have his car under control AT ALL TIMES!!

I was trying to be nice...you know if you throw too much at them at one time they won't retain it all. I thought I'd start simple with just the spelling. Of course the little red dots under the words should be a dead giveaway that something is not right. (excluding names of course) And isn't there a spell check function on here? Just for the sake of looking intelligent you'd think that if half of your post was underlined that you would use it so that you could be taken a little bit more seriously.

some one needs to correct sandyinholtwood's grammar please. it should read "could have" not "could of" as sandyinholtwood wrote on 2 separate instances. oh, you only correct the newbies and those that don't meet your approval, right?

acid, stay away, TB is the only activity these people have, and it's turned them in nasty hateful people. your time would be better spent anywhere else.
