(2)Robert J. Pavlovich Jr., 41, was convicted in October of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault of a child, bribery and 10 counts of corruption of minors.
During sentencing Wednesday, Perry County Court Judge Kathy Morrow ruled that Pavlovich is a sexually violent predator and as such must register his address with Pennsylvania state police for the rest of his life.
Pavlovich was working as a policeman in Marysville between 2000 and 2007 when more than a dozen teenage girls and young women between the ages of 12 and 17 complained that he had molested or propositioned them.
The case was prosecuted by the state attorney general's office and state police after several victims said they grew frustrated when their complaints to Pavlovich's supervisors were ignored.
The charges followed a grand jury investigation.
After Pavlovich was arrested, some of the girls filed a federal lawsuit against the borough and its police chief. A federal judge approved an out-of-court settlement in the lawsuit, ordering the town to pay two girls $20,000 each.
In 1995, Pavlovich was employed as a Manheim Township policeman and was accused of touching a teenage girl inappropriately. He went to trial and was acquitted but was discharged from the department.
