it's called stating their source. otherwise it's plagiarism.
and it is a very sad story for that family. not even his fault
oh geez
Tragic story. Truly a case of being in the "wrong place at the wrong time". The guy is doing everything right (wearing his seatbelt, etc.) and out of nowhere he is tragically killed...

Shouldn't their source be the police station and not another newspaper's website or should we expect to see the following kind of reporting from LNP?

"According to my niece, an accident occured on the 200 block of King Street today. My niece's Myspace page goes on to say that the passenger looked like Lady Gaga."

"according to the Reading Eagle newspaper's Web site"

Is the Lancaster paper even trying anymore?

Hello? the accident happened in Berks County. There is also a Caernarvon Township in Berks Co. near Morgantown. The Berks Co. District Attorney is assisting. The emergency services which responded to the wreck were all Berks Co. services.

The only reason the Lancaster paper even picked this up is because it was a Lancaster County man who was killed. Is the Lancaster paper supposed to go all over the country when it wants to report a happening about a county resident? If a county resident is killed in Los Angeles, must LNP send a report to L.A. to get the story, or may it depend on the LA Times?

They got word of the story in the Reading Eagle, thought Lancaster County residents would be interested in the story, and therefore used it and gave proper credit to the Reading Eagle. LNP did this exactly right, and they don't deserve your scorn.
