Thursday night, the Lancaster Barnstormers continued their mastery over the York Revolution this season.

Lancaster lefty Eric Ackerman gave up just one run in seven innings and the 'Stormers scored two runs in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie and beat the Revs, 3-1. The Barnstormers are now 6-1 vs. York this season.

Ackerman, who gave up six hits, struck out five and walked just one. Ackerman surrendered a first-inning run on an RBI single by Tom Collaro, but kept York off the board the next six innings.

"I made a couple bad pitches in the first inning," Ackerman said. "Other than that, it went pretty good. They have some players on that team and I got away with a couple of bad pitches. And they were hitting it right at people and I got a double play. My defense got after it tonight and we won."

Ackerman called it one of his top three starts this season.

"They had a lot of lefties in their line-up and I fair pretty good against lefties," he said. "I felt pretty comfortable out there. I just had to put up a quality outing, keep it under three runs, get through at least six (innings)."

With the game tied 1-1, Lancaster took the lead in the seventh on an RBI double by Aaron Herr. Herr, who had two doubles in the game, later scored on a Travis Phelps wild pitch.

"It was nice to get that run support," Ackerman said.

The 'Stormers' Rose Peeples threw a scoreless eighth to set-up Antonio Alfonseca, who pitched the ninth for his first save as a Barnstormer. Alfonseca got Josh Johnson to foul out to Herr at third with runners on second and third to end the game.

York starter Shane Youman, who pitched for the 'Stormers last season, threw five scoreless innings against his own team. He gave up four hits, struck out two and walked two.

The closest Lancaster came to scoring against Youman was in the fifth. Michael Campbell, trying to score from second on a single by Lloyd Turner, was thrown out at the plate by center fielder Carl Loadenthal.

Lancaster tied the game at one in the sixth against reliever Jason Olson, but the inning could have been much bigger. Gerard Haran walked, Herr doubled and Bryan Sabatella's RBI single plated Haran. After Ryan Mulhern walked to load the bases with one out, Olson struck out both Campbell and Lloyd Turner to end the inning.

Notes: Turner made two nice defensive plays, short-hopping a liner to start a 6-3 double play to end the eighth and charging and throwing out a batter after a bare-handed pickup in the ninth. … 'Stormers starter Eric Junge was named Atlantic League Pitcher of the Month. Junge is currently on the inactive list. The league is awaiting payment from the Korean team that he is set to join. … Lancaster signed infielder Vic Gutierrez before the game. … Danny Bravo missed Thursday's game as a result of a tight hamstring and Quincy Foster missed the contest with a wrist injury he sustained batting in Wednesday's game. … York had made an error in seven straight games and nine of their last 10.
