A New Providence man faces charges after police say he huffed nitrous oxide from 20 cans of whipped cream inside a Quarryville store.

Cory M. Geiberson, 23, of 2 Ashton Drive, twice targeted the Ferguson & Hassler grocery store in the Townsedge Shopping Village along Route 222, according to Quarryville Police Chief Kenneth Work.

Geiberson took one or more cans of whipped cream from the store shelf at a time, Work said.

He carried them elsewhere in the store, squatted down like he was reading a product label and then huffed the gas out of the top of the can without allowing any whipped cream to come out, Work said.

"It's called 'whippets,' " the chief said. "He said he got about a 10-second head rush for each can."

Work said huffing of any kind can be dangerous.

Geiberson huffed a total of 20 cans inside Ferguson & Hassler on the evenings of June 26 and 30, Work said.

Store surveillance video was used to help identify Geiberson, Work said.

Geiberson on Monday was charged with summary retail theft and huffing.

Additional charges are pending against Geiberson by state police regarding a similar incident that occurred at Musser's Market in East Drumore Township on July 6, Work said.

Twenty-five cans of whipped cream were huffed in that incident, state police said in a press release.

This was a story on a radio game show here in Anchorage Alaska. The game called "It Happened in Florida" uses 3 stupid criminal stories and you have to guess which one happened in Florida. It's good to hear a story from home 4500 miles away.

It's good to see that one or two have compassion and understanding. Usually the mob condemns or laffs at someone crying out for help. Compassion is something read about, not actually practiced.
I salute those who care for the least among us and their problems.
A tip of the hat to you. The rest need to spend their Sundays somewhere other than the sofa recovering from their hangovers.
Dig?

Yeah right! I've got zero compassion for this moron and it's a shame his story even made the paper. He probably thinks he's cool since he was in the paper for sucking on whipped cream cans.

You are probaly right. I bet you he cut it out, lamented it and now it's hanging on his fridge.

Clearly he is an addict and needs help. Hopefully this is the motivation he needs to get his life on track.
