(2)"French fries!" the Bainbridge Elementary School children yelled at their camera-wielding parents before returning to fried food and a game of tag.
Kindergarten seem a bit young for a summer reunion?
Maybe, but the soon-to-be first-graders were uniting for a good cause.
Decked out in "Fries 4 Tyler" T-shirts, the kids were hoping to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund, an organization that aims to "conquer childhood cancer."
The fundraiser began because their classmate, Tyler, 6, was diagnosed with leukemia in April. The Four Diamonds Fund helped pay his medical expenses.
"There's only one kindergarten at our school," said their teacher Tammy Jenakovich. "All the kids are close."
"We told them 'Tyler's sick, and he's in the hospital,' and they wanted to know how they could help," she said.
Until Aug. 2, a dollar will be donated to the Four Diamonds Fund for every "rhino fry," or cheese fries, ordered at T.J. Rockwell's. T-shirts are also available for $10.
"The Four Diamonds Fund contacted us about relieving our medical bills," said Tyler's mother, Carrie Chapman. "We want to make sure that's there for other families."
The Four Diamonds Fund has helped more than 2,000 families since 1972.
