A Christiana man struck a police officer during an incident Saturday at the man's home, state police said.

Clifton Crawford, 43, of 28 Broad St., struck borough police Officer Russell Moore with his hands and feet, causing minor injuries, Trooper Michele Smith said Monday.

Smith said that the altercation occurred while Moore was attempting to take Crawford into custody after being dispatched for a domestic dispute at 5:45 p.m.

Crawford is charged with felony aggravated assault on a police officer and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

He was arraigned Sunday and released on bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Notes to self:

Do not let the police into the house.

Do not go outside when the police are there.

While that is MUCH better than hitting a cop (automatic death penalty ), this was a domestic call. If he was, say, arguing with his wife SHE may have called and let them in. He should have told them to leave and take her with them.

Now he's got a nasty criminal record. Poor judgement...

they don't have to leave if the wife called for a domestic VIOLENCE incident. They have consent to be in the residence from the wife, who has marital rights to the property.

What you are suppose to do is NOT HIT POLICE OFFICER'S. Automatic Death Penalty?
