A Willow Street woman injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday along Route 272 in Providence Township has died, police said.

Reba E. Rineer, 73, of Willow Street was driving a car east on Pennsy Road at 5:29 p.m. and failed to stop at a posted sign at the intersection of northbound Route 272, police said.

Her car entered the travel lane and was struck by a northbound sport utility vehicle driven by John C. Goldbach, 46, of Lancaster, police said.

Rineer was transported to Lancaster General Hospital and died from her injuries on Thursday, police learned.

Goldbach was not injured, police said.

That's sad. Prayers and condolences to her family and friends.

My friends live right on that corner across the street from the parking lot where the buses park and I can't see missing that stop sign. Even without the sign-you can definitely see 272. I wonder if there wasn't a medical issue that caused this tragic accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to this poor woman's family. That's horrible.

And condolences to John Goldbach, he has to live with her death, even thought it wasn't his fault, for the rest of his life. It wreaks havoc on a person.

At that time of the day, she could have been blinded by the sun.

At first I was going to say you would need to be traveling West to be blinded by the sun there. Then I remembered times when I was blinded by the sun shining in the window of an oncoming vehicle. You could be right.

Rest in Peace, Reba.
Peace to you your heart, John Goldbach.

I thought about the other driver too. Prayers to him also. I'm sure it would wreak havoc being in that situation.
