A Washington Boro man masturbated in his car while looking at women outside Park City Center, police said Thursday.

Daniel J. Hickernell Jr., 22, of 62 Penn St., faces two charges of open lewdness, city police said.

A woman and a man saw Hickernell naked in his vehicle and masturbating on Aug. 3, police said. They reported his license plate number to police.

On Aug. 21, another woman saw Hickernell looking at her and masturbating in his vehicle, police said. She also reported his license plate number to police.

The victims picked Hickernell's photo from a photo array, police said.

The article says he was reported to be NAKED IN HIS VEHICLE. Last I checked, that would be considered public nudity and it IS a crime....and it IS a big deal to be doing a sexual act in public. What the heck ever happened to dirty magazines in the bathroom at home? Sheesh!

What if he lives in his car? Isn't he "at home" then?

What if you lived in the city and had a big picture window on Queen or Prince or another busy street and stood in front of your picture window with no clothes on so that you can be seen by all that go by? My bet is that you are going to be arrested.....

oh, big deal. Come on. Doesn't hurt anybody. What is there to freak out about? In fact, shouldn't conservatives be taking the line that if it's not doing any palpable harm to someone else, then the government has no authority to criminalize it?

I think that as long as he wasn't intentionally revealing himself to women in a deliberate attempt to offend, it's really not a big deal. Let's not be so prudish and freak out over nudity and sex.

Some sex offenders just don't become sex offenders over night, they start out as peeping toms, openly lewd acts and usually escalate from there. Masturbating in public may not be a big deal to some adults, but if I was putting my kids in my car and the guy next to me in the parking lot is doing his dirt in plain view, in public, that does offend me.
Working with sex offenders and the things they escalate too, may give me a different opinion of this guy, but as far as Im concerned he should have been arrested.

I once read a book about Jeffrey Dahmer, you know... the people-eater in Milwaukee. He lived with his grandmother for a few years. After he left home, she saw that the side of the house outside the bathroom window was covered in ejaculatory emissions. Years worth. Does that sound normal to you? That was harmless at the time... right? Was he harmless... not so much. Deviates almost always escalate their issues... nudity and sex are fine and fun if left to the confines of the house, or the car when it's in the garage, etc. When you take it out in public you risk children witnessing things and that can screw up a kid... easily.
