(2)Police said the body of Lydia Colon-Torres, 33, was found near the river bank, not far from the intersection of Route 441 and Donegal Street, in Manor Township.
She was last seen by family members on Sept. 25 at her home at 324 Beaver St.
Positive identification of the body was delayed because dental records needed to be obtained, said Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen G. Diamantoni.
"We had some dental records and they were consistent with her description, but not conclusive," Diamantoni said. "We had to get additional records covering restorations and work she had done that unequivocally identified her."
The circumstances of Colon-Torres' death are under investigation.
"Right now, we don't have a cause of death, nor do we have a manner determined," Diamantoni said.
Because of the cool temperature of the water, Diamantoni said, he is not sure how long the body had been in the river, just that it was "more than a few days."
Law enforcement officials are asking anyone with information to contact Lancaster City police at 735-3300 or Manor Township police at 299-5231.
Callers do not have to give their names to provide information.
