One day after four daytime residential burglaries in Manheim Township, four more homes were struck in the Landisville and Salunga areas.

The latest break-ins occurred Friday.

More than $6,600 worth of jewelry was stolen from two homes in the 100 block of Ann Avenue and a home in the 3200 block of Harrisburg Pike, East Hempfield Township police Sgt. Steven Draper said.

All three break-ins occurred between 9 a.m. and noon, he said, and all were very similar.

Entry was made by forcing open a back door or garage door in each home, Draper said.

Neighbors did not see anyone suspicious, and other than two stolen scanners, loot consisted nearly entirely of jewelry, he said.

"It's property that can be pawned or melted down to get money for," Draper said of the rings, necklaces and other jewelry taken.

West Hempfield Township police reported the fourth burglary Friday in the 100 block of Broad Street in Salunga.

Someone forced open a rear door of a home and took an undisclosed amount of jewelry, police said.

The East and West Hempfield burglaries occurred the day after someone stole more than $6,000 worth of jewelry and cash from four Manheim Township homes, police said. Those break-ins also took place during the day.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that all the burglaries are related, Manheim Township police Sgt. Tom Rudzinski said.

Anyone with information is asked to call East Hempfield police at 898-3103, West Hempfield police at 285-5191 or the Manheim Township police Crime TipLine at 569-2816.

Actually what will probably happen is he ends up in the hospital and the home owner is sued for the medical expenses.....

People in Lancaster are tired of this crap. If a homeowner blew a burglar's head off, I don't think you could put together a jury that would convict.

When these folks are brought up on charges, they really need to disclose info and pictures. We need to use all methods available to try to eliminate this. What ever happened to making examples out of scum like this? Lancaster County is overdue for an example.

I'll bet if you empty a clip into one of these pieces of isht, you'll get the info you want on them. Remember, drag em back into your house and say you feared for your life.
