Saturday's PSAC East clash between East Stroudsburg and Millersville stood scoreless after the first quarter, but the Warriors stormed in front with four unanswered scores in the second quarter en route to a 44-3 rout of Millersville.

East Stroudsburg's Matt Marshall threw a pair of touchdown passes, and Kevin Williams added a 32-yard touchdown run as ESU turned a tied game into a 20-point advantage in a little more than a seven minute span. Before visiting Millersville scored its only points of the game — a 30-yard field goal from John Banzhof at the end of the first half — ESU had scored 23 points, due in part to a pair of costly Millersville turnovers.

Millersville (3-7, 2-6 PSAC East) held the Warriors (7-3, 4-3 PSAC East) to just 25 yards rushing in the first frame and was driving for an early lead after Julius Carter's interception put the offense in business. But ESU's Mark Kalo returned the favor, intercepting Bill Shirk at the ESU 27-yard line and turning the tide of the game permanently in favor of the Warriors.

Marshall engineered a nine-play, 78-yard drive that took just two minutes and ended in a Sam Shuman touchdown grab, seconds into the second quarter. After two Millersville punts, Williams got the ESU running game untracked with his 32-yard jaunt into the end zone. And on the ensuing kickoff, Matt Egenrieder lost a fumble at the ESU 21. The was a Marshall-to-Ed Kiser 21-yard strike for a 20-0 lead.

East Stroudsburg gashed Millersville for 107 rushing yards in the second quarter alone and went on to finish with 243 on 47 rushes.

The Marauders close the 2009 season Saturday, Nov. 7, with a home game against Edinboro at noon.
