Man charged with assaulting mother

A Manheim man choked his 78-year-old mother, pushed her down and then punched a man Monday afternoon, police said.

State police in Ephrata charged Steven Dosch, 49, with simple assault and two counts of harassment as a result of the incident in the 100 block of Ridgewood Manor, Manheim, police said.

Dosch struck Helen Maker of Manheim and pushed her down several times, police said. He then punched Joel Wenger, 30, of Columbia, in the face when Wenger attempted to check on Maker's welfare.

OK then, and it is good point, far to many people do not read the article at all before they post and even then they go thru it so fast to really pay attention.! I've done this myself from time to time.! No harm, no foul.!

I'm not quite sure what your trying to convey to us? I'm sure most of us already knew that, does that mean what he did was any lesser of a sin or crime?

Choked her, pushed her, and assaulted another person checking on her. I guess it won't be long before this dirtbag is back on the streets getting worse to the point of taking the lives of good citizens. What a nice thought.

They printed his name. If I pushed my elderly mother around, I would be terrified that they printed my name. Someone will remember that name and sometime run into him and show him what it's like to be pushed around............
