(2)When it's all said and done, the store at 701 Lancaster Road, will have a new freezer aisle, produce section and cash registers as well as more than 2,000 square feet of extra retail space, company president Mike Mitchell said.
The store had been closed for part of the two-weeklong renovation, which included knocking out a back wall to expand the selling area from roughly 7,200 square feet to 9,500 square feet. New flooring, lighting and a revamped heating and air-conditioning system also have been added.
The Manheim location, which is one of Amelia's smaller stores, has about 20 full- and part-time employees. Mitchell said some new employees eventually may be added.
The New Holland-based discount grocer has 12 stores in southeastern Pennsylvania, including four in Lancaster County.
Store hours: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
New at Tanger
Split Decision Apparel opened Oct. 23 in a 2,820-square-foot store space at Tanger Outlet Center. The retailer sells a variety of contemporary clothing, including handbags and shoes.
Also opening last month at Tanger was Accents, a women's fashion jewelry and accessories store. Accents, which also has a store in Rehoboth Beach, Del., will take a 2,820-square foot space that formerly had been occupied by S&K Menswear.
And, Calendar Club, opened Oct. 16 at Tanger. The 5,000-square-foot store sells calendars toys and games and will be open through the holiday shopping season.
New Dunkin'
A new Dunkin' Donuts opened Saturday in the Kmart Plaza at 1838 Fruitville Pike.
The coffee and baked goods restaurant is open 24 hours a day and features a drive-through. The roughly 350-square foot shop has walk-in service, but no seating. It has 16 employees.
Food shop opens
Bon Appetit, a small food shop opened late last month at 50 N. Queen St. The shop, located in Central Market Mall, is directly behind Bonbonnière, a confectionary store that fronts Queen Street.
Bon Appetit's selection of foods, which includes specialty dips, crackers and pretzels, are meant to provide quick hostess gifts or party foods reminiscent of French country cuisine, said Mary Ellen Kauffman, a store owner who also helped start Bonbonnière last year.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Sports apparel
Red Rose Sport is opening this week at 45 N. Market St., taking a spot formerly occupied by plant store Space to Grow.
The business sells brand name apparel for team sports, golf and casual business. It also will offer customized apparel for team sports or businesses as well as awards and trophies. It is a venture of Red Rose Screen Printing and Awards, which has a production facility in Lititz.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Salon to open
Great Clips, a family hair salon is set to open Dec. 4 at Stone Mill Plaza, west of Lancaster. The seven-chair salon will take walk-in customers for haircuts. The roughly 1,000-square-foot salon will feature competitively priced haircuts, owner Darryl Keeports said.
Expected hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
