A call about two men fighting led to the arrests of a suspected armed robber and a suspected drug dealer, city police said.

The incident occurred Wednesday at 2:45 a.m. near West Orange and North Mulberry streets, police said.

Raymond Michael Nickles, 31, of 745 Manor St., Apt. 2, displayed an 8-inch steak knife and robbed Rickey Chauncey Reid, 45, of the 100 block of Old Dorwart Street, of $45 cash, police said.

Police arrived and patted down Nickles, but he tried to pull away from them, police said. He struggled and pulled his arm away when they tried to handcuff him.

Police pushed Nickles to the ground, and he continued to struggle, police said. He had the knife in his back pocket with the blade exposed, but no officers were injured.

Police eventually were able to handcuff Nickles, who also was screaming and cursing, police said. He faces charges of robbery, theft, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

At the scene, police found Reid had 22 individually packaged baggies containing a total of 21.1 grams of cocaine, police said. The 1-inch square baggies of cocaine would sell for $10 to $20 each on the street.

Reid was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine in a school zone. He was arrested near Fulton Elementary School, police said.

Nickles and Reid were sent to Lancaster County Prison, Nickles on $50,000 cash bail and Reid on $20,000 cash bail, police said.
