Chris Heisey is continuing his sensational play in the Arizona Fall League.
Heisey, a Donegal High and Messiah College graduate, started in left field for the West team in the AFL's all-star game, the Rising Stars Showcase, Saturday, Nov. 7, in Surprise, Ariz.
Heisey, one of the Cincinnati Reds' top prospects, had a two-run homer in the first inning of the West's 8-7 victory. He also had a double and scored a run in the West's four-run third inning.
He went 2-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout on the game, which the West trailed 7-0 after the first half inning.
Heisey, who starred at Class AA Carolina and Class AAA Louisville last summer, is among the AFL's leading hitters.
Through Friday, he was hitting .308 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 21 games for Peoria Saguaros. He had a .400 on-base percentage and .641 slugging percentage.
The AFL is a league for baseball's top minor league prospects. The league's 32-game regular season ends Thursday.
• Lampeter-Strasburg graduate
Jeff Bianchi, an infielder in the Kansas City Royal's farm system, is playing for the AFL's Surprise team.
Through Friday, Bianchi was hitting .262 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 15 games.
Bianchi started last season in Class A Wilmington and was promoted in midseason to Class AA Northwest Arkansas, where he hit .315 with five homers and 42 RBIs in 68 games.

Todd O'Brien had a memorable start to his first season with St. Joseph's University's basketball team.
O'Brien (6-11) scored the go-ahead basket on a short jumper with 46 seconds left in overtime to lift the Hawks over Drexel 77-67 Friday night.
The game was played before a capacity crowd of 4,200 in the first game in 16 months at St. Joe's newly renovated Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
O'Brien, a sophomore, started at forward for
Phil Martelli's team. He scored nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field and 3-for-4 from the foul line. He had a team-high eight rebounds in 34 minutes.
O'Brien, who averaged 4.4 points in 31 games for Bucknell in 2007-08, transferred to St. Joseph's last year. He had to sit out a season because of NCAA transfer rules.
• Program alert: The Big Ten Cross-Country Championship, run Nov. 1 at Penn State, will be shown by the Big Ten Network at 1 p.m. today.
The field includes Wisconsin's
Craig Miller, the former PIAA champion from Manheim Township, and Penn State's
Vince McNally, the former star from Conestoga Valley.

That's two teams each from the Big 12, Big Ten, SEC, Big East and ACC.
