Looking for a place to jam on Wednesday nights? Then you obviously haven't been looking too hard.
Yorgo's recently kicked off an open mic-jam night on Wednesdays, and it's a kicker. From 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. or thereabouts, Miles Leonard guides group after group, and an occasional solo performer, through their paces in the lower level at Yorgo's.
Don't play? Upstairs they've got karaoke.
Can't sing? We told you they have karaoke upstairs.
But wait, as the Ronco announcers always say — there's more!
On Nov. 11, the former Alley Kat/Cove jam moved down the street to the American Bar and Grille.
The jam runs from 9 p.m. to midnight and features the Kat/Cove house band, the DeTourrettes: Steve Davis on guitar, Mike Bitts on bass and Aaron Walker on drums.
Aaron said the jam is open to all styles of music.
"Singers can sit in and have the house band back them up, singer-songwriters can perform solo and bands can come in and promote themselves by playing a few of their songs," Aaron wrote in an e-mail.
And we hear Rosa Rosa is thinking about starting a Wednesday night jam come January.
Decisions, decisions.
It's a busy week for former High Falootin' frontman Dave Hurd.
Dave got his old band — or most of it, anyway — back together for a show last Friday at the Lancaster Dispensing Company. Mark "Banjo Doc" Rast of Vinegar Creek Constituency joined Dave, bassist Charlie Burnett and mandolinist/guitarist Matt Underhill for a reunion of sorts.
And this Saturday Dave's taking his latest band, Barrel of Wolves, to the Chameleon Club to open for Eddie Money.
Now that's covering some bases.
The Right Coast will release "This Is Acoustic" on Dec. 1. The new album is an acoustic take on their current EP, "This Is Now."
The CD will be released exclusively through
www.smartpunk.com. It will be available at iTunes in mid-December. AOL Music will be streaming the record the week before its release.
The boys will be kicking off a U.S. tour on Jan. 8 with The Audition. Between now and then, the only local appearance the band will be making is Dec. 30 at the Chameleon for a holiday show.

Singer-songwriter Mark DeRose and The Mark DeRose Band will take the stage Friday at Building Character for Music Friday.

The Green Onions will debut its new lineup at a show in the Lizard Lounge at the Chameleon, 223 N. Water St., at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
On Wednesday, celebrate Thanksgiving Eve with the Onions at McCleary's Pub, 130 W. Front St., Marietta. The show kicks off at 9:30 p.m.
