Five area teens were injured early Saturday morning in a violent one-vehicle crash in the 900 block of Schoeneck Road, West Cocalico Township.

East Cocalico Township police were sent to the scene at 3:53 a.m., where they found a heavily damaged Mitsubishi sedan overturned in a field. All five occupants had been thrown from the car, according to a witness who reported the crash to county radio dispatchers.
The vehicle hit a utility pole on the right side of the roadway and rolled several times, police said. The car then landed on its roof near a sign for Horton's Boarding Kennel.
The driver, Ethan Hartman, 19, Reinholds, was flown by Sky Flight Care to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday night. Hartman graduated from Cocalico High School this year, according to newspaper records.
An 18-year-old male passenger from Ephrata was flown by a Penn Star helicopter unit to Reading Hospital with traumatic injuries, police reported.
Two 16-year-old girls from Denver and a 16-year-old boy from Reinholds were also injured in the crash, police said. They were taken to Lancaster General and Reading hospitals for treatment.
A spokeswoman at Reading Hospital said a patient by the name of Austin Hartman had been admitted and was in good condition Saturday night. Austin Hartman is a running back with the Cocalico Eagles football team and played in a game against Susquehanna Township Friday night.
Police, however, released no identities other than that of Ethan Hartman. Calls to Cocalico School District officials were not returned by press time.
The car was heading north on Schoeneck Road when the crash happened, police said. The crash remains under investigation; Officer Gail Sizer said the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
Schoeneck Fire Company was first on the scene. Lincoln Fire Company also responded, along with rescue units from Denver, Ephrata, Reamstown and Reinholds. Ephrata police assisted on the scene.n
