(48)And Conestoga Valley School District plans to provide shots for up to 1,500 of its students Dec. 16.
The state will offer free vaccines at clinics to be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the state health clinic, 1661 Old Philadelphia Pike.
People must schedule an appointment in advance, by calling 1-877-PA HEALTH, or 1-877-724-3258.
Lancaster County is one of three counties to receive the additional vaccine this week after clinics held here Friday and Saturday were filled to capacity. Lehigh and Delaware counties also will hold additional clinics this week.
The vaccines will be given to people in targeted risk groups, including those between the ages of 6 months and 24 years, caregivers for children under 6 months, pregnant women, health care providers and emergency medical services personnel, and individuals under 65 with underlying health conditions.
People who are getting the vaccine should download and fill out an H1N1 consent form available at www.h1n1inpa.com.
The state Department of Health has approved CV's request to provide the shots, but the district has yet to learn how many doses it will receive.
CV requested 1,500 vaccines.
The district has tentative plans to administer the swine flu shots from 3 to 8 p.m. Dec. 16 at CV High School.
The clinic will be open only to students who attend CV schools and who return completed consent forms to their schools by Wednesday.
The district has requested a second round of vaccines to be administered at a later date to children ages 5 to 9.
Health officials recommend younger children receive a second shot to be fully immunized against the H1N1 virus.
CV is the fourth Lancaster County school district to provide free vaccines to students.
School District of Lancaster and Lampeter-Strasburg administered about 2,000 shots in recent weeks, and Manheim Township this week is completing a districtwide program to give out 6,200 vaccines.
