(2)Donald Gochenaur, 35, and his wife, Renee Gochenaur, 29, were arguing outside their residence in the 800 block of North Duke Street shortly before 1 p.m., police said.
The 17-year-old boy from Rocky Ridge, Md., a friend of Renee Gochenaur, exited his vehicle to intervene, police said. He had a six-inch folding knife with a three-inch blade.
The teen charged at Donald Gochenaur, jumped off the hood of a parked car and swung the knife toward his head, police said. Gochenaur moved to the right and was stabbed in his upper arm.
Members of the couple's family then separated the teen and Gochenaur, police said.
Gochenaur got stitches for a small puncture wound at Lancaster General Hospital and was released, police said.
The teen fled, said city police, who alerted West Lampeter Township police that he might be headed to the Willow Woods apartment community in that township.
Shortly after 1 p.m., West Lampeter police saw the suspect's vehicle at Willow Woods and saw people gathered on a nearby patio, city police said.
When officers approached the group, the 17-year-old fled on foot. He was quickly taken into custody nearby.
City police charged the teen with aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime. He was sent to the county's youth intervention center.
