Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has been selected as one of six sites in Pennsylvania that will provide state-certified weatherization training.

The school was awarded a $150,000 state grant funded by federal economic stimulus money to set up a program to train weatherization installers, crew chiefs and home energy auditors in Lancaster, York, Chester, Lebanon, Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams and Franklin counties.

The courses will be modeled on curriculum developed by Penn College of Technology, Williamsport, which is providing technical assistance for the program.

Classes will be held weekdays, evenings and Saturdays starting Jan. 18.
