This sweet boy, Logan, is a 3-year-old Lab mix. He knows there's someone out there for him who's reading this right now.

Logan's family did not want to part with him, but Logan has allergies and they couldn't afford the medication to keep him healthy. We estimate that Logan's medication costs will range from $40-$60 a month. Logan loves to play with children and lives to chase a ball. He is housebroken, well-mannered, loyal and affectionate. Logan has lived at the league since Oct. 12 and wants nothing more than a new family to love.

Pet of the Week: Logan

Logan is available for adoption at the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East. Many of our available animals can also be viewed online at humaneleague.com/home.htm. Regular shelter hours are noon-6 p.m. Monday; noon-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; noon-5 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The shelter is closed Wednesday. Call the league at 393-6551.

From Nov. 17-23, the league received 74 dogs and 95 cats; 27 dogs and 48 cats were adopted. Fifteen stray dogs were reclaimed by their owners. Eleven dogs and two cats were transferred to other rescue organizations. Zen, last week's featured feline, has been adopted.

Make this holiday season a happy one for your pet by keeping a consistent routine. If you have to travel with your pet, make sure to bring along familiar food and other items. If you plan to leave your pet alone for long periods during the day, consider asking a friend or neighbor to look in on him or take him for a short walk while you're gone. These simple steps will help make the holidays enjoyable for the whole family.
