A rifle was found on the side of a Strasburg Township road Friday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for the owner of a .30-.30 Marlin rifle that was found in a black plastic case on the ground at Route 896 and Paradise Lane at 2:30 p.m.

Police said the rifle has camouflage on the stock and a Bushnell scope mounted on it.

Police believe the cased rifle might have been on top of a vehicle and fell off when the vehicle made a turn at the intersection.

Anyone with information should call state police at 299-7650.

Maybe the owner when coming for the gun will give the police the serial number. Could that identify the gun as belonging to that person. DUH.

I don't have the serial numbers for my weapons.

Don't know of many that do.

may want to do that in case someone steals them. Might be the only way of getting your property back.

It was really smart, to put a full description in the paper.

I was thinking the same thing. I drive through that intersection every morning on my way to work, I didn't see it there that morning, that would've been interesting.

Good point. Have to go get some more paper.
