Daisy:
Please understand there is a great deal of bitterness here about the media and we are actually living it. We don't need to read the inaccuracies in the Washington Post.
I know however that you have a good heart and are always trying to help so I want you to know I am not criticizing you.

I also was outraged at the media coverage and contacted WGAL.

I received a detailed response indicating WGAL (and presumably other media outlets) were in contact with Amish elders on an acceptable and appropriate method to cover the funerals with balance between Amish culture and the outside world's appetite for news in our tiny corner of the world.

I was very satisfied with the response and felt news reporter interviews were cleared by Amish elders first.

Now, whether they went on camera or not was up to them and they had the right to decline being interviewed.

His symptoms also fit with someone who suffers a psychotic, manic break from reality that may have been brought on by adult trauma (death of his child) followed by depression and from UNTREATED and UNMEDICATED schizo-affective disorder. Schizo-affective disorder, depression, and schizophrenia are well-treated with the use of anti-psychotic and anti-depressant meds. If it holds true that he did not molest his cousins, which I believe, that break from reality accompanied by hallucinatory dreams, is quite in line with schizo-affective disorder. Which can lead to psychotic breaks with reality.

Who knows what went on in the privacy of his family and his church? We will never know the truth.

I'm well aware that the Scientology forums are buzzing trying to find out what, if any, meds he was on. And that they are 'fanning out' to other boards to post things such as you have. I also know that those same Scientology forums will all slink away if it is found that he was unmedicated and untreated. It's very obvious that he was undiagnosed.

EDIT: Well, surprise, surprise, surprise. John, I hadn't even googled you before I posted the above.
