We need County Commissioners who represent the entire County, including the City. It is interesting that even some people who question the Convention Center project, buy the arguments of the newspapers/City Council/Mayor Gray and his Administration that the current County Commissioners do not support the City. But if you read the newspapers very, very carefully you would discover the following
the County contributed $1 million to make the northwest triangle redevelopment project go forward the City, which favors the project, contributed nothing
the County contributed $1 million to the Pa. Academy of Music project -- the City, which favors the project, contributed nothing
the County backed $10 million dollars in Baseball stadium loans and loaned another $1 million directly the City promised to loan $900,000 but in fact contributed nothing
the County contributes $400,000 per year for City anti-crime initiatives from the Crime Commission report, etc., etc. etc.
Well, the City has no money and cannot contribute you say.
Well, the City can
back $24 million in Marriott hotel lease bonds
back $13 million plus in Marriott hotel Act 23 bonds
contribute $1 million in "in kind" to the hotel/cc
etc., etc.
The previous controller (R.B. Campbell) had concerns about this.
Current controller Craig Lehman does not.
Other than helping Dale High (not a City resident) what has the City administration done? Oh, I forgot, they kicked out Eng. That conveniently obscures the fact that they haven't done a thing to redevelop that property.
Hoping I won't be labeled a hotel/cc conspiracy theorist, I suggest looking at the facts, not the newspapers as to who is helping the City. The hotel/cc is not the be-all and end-all

Is Lancaster City not part of the County?
The answer is yes, as I think my post shows. However, the hotel/convention center project and the City are not the same thing, despite the claims that anyone who does not support the hotel/convention center hates the City
