QUOTE(tugrad @ Nov 29 2006, 12:42 PM)
Taking the "lord's name in vain" is prohibited in Luckygirl's religion if CommTech doesn't share her religion then he doesn't need to follow its rules.
Then he should practice civility and not mention in a derogatory manner, by name, the religious figure to whom CommTech doesn't care to follow the teachings. This IS about civility, not freedom of religion.

This drivel is another prime example of the "politically correct" bunch being politically correct to every wacky situation, except when Christians are the subject matter of the obvious incorrectness.

"if CommTech doesn't share her religion then he doesn't need to follow its rules."

Can you even imagine the uproar of dissent if one of our Jewish posters here complaining that someone spelled God with an "O" instead of a hyphen? Or if a muslim poster here tried to tell others that they were insulted because we were violating Shari'a law? Or a RLDS member telling us that we were mocking their polygamous lifestyle? And on and on and on...

I'm with you tugrad. I respect others religions but I don't practice them and I don't expect others to practice mine.

Thanks you hav1 that was my point exactly.

Oh my heck and cheez and crackers, for flippin', freakin', fetchin' sakes, have you ever used the phrase MASTER bedroom or MASTER key? Aw fudge, think about it...

Kate, you really need to read my post again. I have complete sympathy for the family. I was commenting on the on the fact that the previous post impiled that the parents did little more than call the police and ship their son away. I will try to be a little more straight forward next time for you.

No problem, one post after another that seemed negative just hit me the wrong way.

Many posters do not realize the environment at LCP. With over 1,000 prisoners a day it's amazing that there aren't more suicides. Someone recently told me that there's at least one suicide per year at LCP. If someone really wants to end their life they'll find a way to do it with little to no warning.

My sincere condolences to the family of this young man.
Kate
