What about downtown Lancaster? If we were not spending $150+ Million (we don't have) on a convention center and hotel, we could use that space for condominiums, shops, the arts and not need gaming to make up for losses.
Could our local leaders risk changing course? What is really in it for them individually?

That is a question many inquiring minds want to know. I've heard a rumor about organzied crime infiltrating this county. Only time will tell.........

City officials met with Mr. Whalen earlier the same day. Lancaster City Director of Economic Development & Neighborhood Revitalization Randy Patterson took Mr. Whalen on a walking tour of downtown Lancaster. During their time together, Mr. Whalen commented to Mr. Patterson that there were very few young people downtown.

Mr. Whalen explained to Mr. Patterson that downtown Lancaster has plenty of restaurants, but not nearly enough entertainment. Mr. Whalen believes any city needs a healthy mix of people of all ages who live in the downtown area, along with a number of good reasons for local residents to spend time downtown. Obviously downtown Lancaster falls far short of what is required for a healthy downtown in many different ways.

It is hard for me to believe that organised crime would invest their time and resources on Lancaster. I could easily be wrong; maybe they can see a real potential, after all, Lancaster gets a lot of tourists looking for something to do

It isn't about skimming the tourists, it's about scamming the government.
