This young woman has a great life ahead of her. I'd like to know her in ten years. I've made my own children read this article as it shows how selfless thought and action can indeed be admired by all in our country. I cannot imagine the pride her parents feel..... except when my kid accepts the Hiesman!! just kidding!

Miss Hickey, I said it before when they ran a story about Mychal's Message, and I'll say it again....You are outstanding!

You can help Mychal's Message by donating packages of new underwear and socks. A few years ago I donated sneakers, socks and undies. I believe they also collect gently used winter coats and blankets.

Shannon's grandmother lived in my building and had donations drives among the residents. The Hickey's are a wonderful family and Shannon has a wonderful future ahead of her.
